Kinetic is a Farm to Table Children's Museum that strives to empower and teach children and families in Washington, DC. The museum features four main exhibits: Farm, Packaging/Distributing, Farmers Market, and Nutrition Kitchen. The four exhibits showcase the journey that food takes and promotes healthy eating habits, sustainable practices, and environmental awareness among children. A learning kitchen provides learning support to children who would rather learn in a classroom setting. There is a community garden outside, allowing the museum to have an active role in providing access to healthy and sustainable food practices.
Kinetic was a semester long collaborative project for a retail design class. I took the lead initiative of researching exhibit design as well as ideating many of the interactives within each exhibit. I developed and refined the exhibits and the learning kitchen in Revit and Enscape. Each interactive is associated with research about museum design and educational models.
